About Us: Shanook's Maine
Coons is located in Dover, NH. Owned and
operated by Maureen and Corey Dupes. Our cats are all raised underfoot,
NOT in
cages. They are all treated as part of our family. They all have full
run of
the house except the males who are confined to their own room when not
supervised to prevent unwanted breedings. Kittens and nursing
mothers
have their own nursery playpen until the kittens are old enough to fend
for
themselves.

<>Our Kittens:All the kittens are
handled daily and
are given as much love and affection as possible, they even learn to
tolerate
the antics of our troublesome 10 year old son. Though he sometimes
frightens
them, they usually grow up loving him the most, because he sometimes
sneaks
them treats off his dinner plate. All are litterbox trained and taught
to use a
scratching post instead of the couch.
Breeding Cats: Our
adult cats come from champion and/or foundation bloodlines, to provide
healthy,
yet feral and typey looking kittens. We do also show our cats and
kittens so be
sure to check out the "What's
New" section to see who's showing and how well they've done. Our
adults are registered with the CFA, TICA and/or CFF registry, and most
kittens
can be multi-registered. Be sure to check out the photo gallery of "Our Girls" and
"Our Boys"
to see pictures.
Our Beliefs: Above all else, Shanook's Maine Coons is a small cattery where we believe that providing people with healthy, loving and friendly kittens is more important than pumping out litter after litter of unsocialized, wild kittens. We usually won't have more than 1 litter of kittens at a time so please be sure to check out the "Kittens Available" section to see what's available now.
