DENNIS SCHAFER'S PERSONAL PAGE
Special, Special, Special!
My son Devin is now the Father of Andrew Jacob Schafer. Visit
a web page for Andrew here.
There are a lot of good ministry sites
on the web. The linked page conatins some that I visit on a
regular basis. I find it best to start the day with reading of
scripture, reading some daily devotionals and spending time in
prayer. It's also best to end the day in the same fashion and
perhaps more importantly, to live that way thoughout the entire day.
My Sister and 50
We turned 50 in 2006. I went to CA
for several days and then we both flew back for another week
together. A project we worked on while on both coasts was
transferring family videos onto DVD. Copies were made and it's
great having them in a format that will not degrade like tape. We
got a lot a time together, something that hadn't happened for
years. We also got to share our birthday with our Mother and
other family. Lynn even got a chance to meet up with some college
friends that are still here on the East Coast. We both became
Grandparents in 2006 as well, more reason to travel and see each
other. Check out the link to Andrew's page above.
Visiting Sister
My twin sister, Lynn, lives and works in
Chico, CA. She came back east to visit us for a week
and a half around Thanksgiving of 2005. This was her first
Thanksgiving here in 22 years. She has been
back almost yearly for visits during other occasions including
May of 2005 for Mother's Day. This was a great time, I took
vacation time off and Mom, Lynn and I were able to go places, do things
and visit with family.
Shelter & Food
The month of November 2003 was busy. On November 6th, my old
mobile home was moved out and a brand new one I had purchased, moved
onto the lot. It took a few days to get everything setup to live
in but was well worth the money, time and effort.
Here is a picture of the new place (taken during Winter).

In the Spring of 2004 I had a walkway and lawn done. I was
unhappy with
the quality of the lawn done by Miranda Renovation & Landscape
Company and have put up a page about that here.
I have also had central air conditioning installed by Strogen's
HVAC. The AC is very nice during hot and humid times.
Back to November of 2003, on opening day of hunting season I had a
spike horn buck walk near me, close enough for me to get a shot at and
hit well. It was the quickest for me to get a deer ever.
Once I had got one on the second day of the season but this was also
within 45 minutes of me being in the woods. It has been 8 years
since I had taken a deer, that one being an eight point buck. A
coincidence with these last 2 deer, both were transported with brand
new cars purchased the month before. The eight pointer on a 1996
Chevy Cavalier and this spike horn on a 2004 Chevy Cavalier.
Here is a picture of my 2003 spike horn buck on my 2004 Cavalier.
