A couple of years ago, my brother Greg surprised us all
with the above
picture set in a very old fashioned frame. It is a treasure
to me. This
is my father's mother - Doris Packard - a lovely lady.
I was very unfortunate
that she died while I was in my teens.... I remember
her as if it was yesterday.
Now that I am an adult.... and have learned from living,
there are many
questions I would love to ask her.... someday I will
Nana, I love you. Thank
you for teaching me values and for saving me from some
of my bouts with
poison ivy..... and I will always remember the little
kittens you had.... how
gentle and sweet with them you were...... and to this
day I still have the
Barbie Doll clothes you made for my doll, and have passed
them on to
my daughter...... you had so very many grandchildren....
and you had time
for each and every one of us......
Many say I look like her, but I am sorry dad, every time
I look at this picture
I see you dressed up as a girl.......
