Arkansas Red The Ozark Troubadour
Arkansas Red, The Ozark Troubadour, is from the Ozark mountains of Arkansas. He has been a lifelong entertainer throughout the United States and several foreign countries. His performances feature a number of stringed and fretted musical instruments, some of them home made, with musical selections ranging from mountain hoedowns, to Ozark love ballads, to spirituals--all delivered with sincerity and a deep appreciation for America's past.
Over the years Red has played with many of the greatest entertainers on Grand Ole Opry and has played backup on some of the greatest country and mountain recordings ever produced. This recording of his own is great. The pickin and palyin is some of the best that you'll ever hear come out of them thar hills and all the singing and playing is done by Red, alone, recording on multiple tracks. Anyone that likes good guitar, banjer pickin and down home mountain/country music needs to buy this CD. You can own it for "only" five bucks, plus postage, which won't be a heck of a lot.
I axed Red how the heck he could sell them so cheap and he says he's more interested in spreading fun and good will than he is in making money. (Hmmm. Maybe he found himself a rich wife even though he does live way back in the hills. (If she's got a sister, Red, let me know.).
Ok, enough propaganda and but I want to tell you that everything I said about Red's pickin and singin is true. When I'm, working on this computer, quite often, I have it playing. Buy it. I know you'll love it as much as I do. How do you order? Just email Red at; mbreid@cox.net for the details. Be sure to tell him Fran sent you. (Sheesh, five bucks. He's nuts.)
