Fran DeLorenzo
"The Hobo Minstrel"

Is available to entertain for any special functions that you have scheduled.  Fran's specialty is playing his guitar and singing, while strolling the grounds of an event, as "The Hobo Minstrel".

This style of entertaining has proven to be quite popular, at many outdoor and large hall events, where a great number of patrons are walking between booths, rides, displays, sales tables, etc.  Folks can stop for a minute or an hour and listen to a variety of music including Songs written by Hoboes, Cowboy Music, Folk Songs, Children's Tunes.

 SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

With this style of "Minstrel" playing, songs can be chosen for the individual listeners.  Each person, or group, can hear the type of songs they prefer, except for rock.  Fran figures he's too old to learn this new fangled music.  When is the last time you heard Pistol Packin' Momma, I'm My Own Grandpa, The Hole In The Bottom Of The Sea, Hallelujah I'm A Bum, Go Tell Aunt Rhody or Did You Ever Sleep At The Foot Of The Bed?  Sad or Glad music.  Toe tapping spirituals. Folk and Hobo tunes of all types.

One question frequently asked is, "why Hobo Minstrel?"  Fran's hobby for over fifty five years has been collecting songs and poems that were written by true Hoboes and he enjoys performing, and teaching them to others.  Several cassette tapes, by Fran, and his wife Florence, are available at many tourist railroads and museums throughout the country.  Two cassettes contain  songs and poems written by real, honest to goodness, Hoboes plus comments and dialogue about their life.  "Raise A Ruckus", cassette # 3 is of old time favorites.  His latest recording "Fun Songs For Kids" is quite popular with youngsters.

A well liked and much appreciated performer at all of his appearances, Fran has also received rave notices, from such notables as his children and grand children, and a special comment from his "Great Grandchildren", Alexandria, Kristiana, Shane (Little Feather) & Joy Elizabeth who loudly exclaimed, "GOO(d)."

 STAGE PERFORMANCES & LECTURES

"The Hobo Minstrel" is also available for stage performances, and lectures, about the American Hoboes.  Lectures include songs and poetry, written by the Hoboes, and cover the lifestyle and habits of this group of people who played an important part in the history of our Country
