Thanks for stopping by my
site. My name is Katie - I am a 8th grade student in New
Hampshire. I have many hobbies and interests which I would like to
share with you.

One of the things
that I enjoy the most is cooking. I especially love to bake
cookies, bread and deserts. This Christmas I baked many different kinds
of cookies - my favorite ones were Santa's sandwiches. They were so
tasty. If the recipe has chocolate you don't have to twist my arm to
whip up something quick. I can do other things as well. My greatest challenge with
cooking is keeping my mom from snarfing down everything that I make.

Over the past several years, I have
become a very good fisherman. My favorite fish to catch is Bass. I
once caught a Pickerel by the fin. Mom didn't want to touch it so she
slammed it against the boat to get it off of the hook. What really hooked
me into fishing was when I caught a large-mouth-Bass when I was somewhere
in the first or second grade. Did you happen to notice the 18 inch Salmon
I caught this year?

I started playing the trumpet in 5th grade. We have a
great band director who likes to have fun and gives out the funniest
things for the band raffles. I am first chair in my school band. I also
play in church with my mom, brother and others.

I love horses and love to ride them.
Every summer I visit my grandparents who live in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
I get to ride horses there every week. My favorite breed of horse
is Arabians closely followed by paints. I also have a collection of
horses. My favorite so far is a paint named Tucker but the riding place
went out of business so now I ride a black Quarter horse, Percheron
crossbreed. My dad fount a place where I can work
cleaning stables and watering horses; the benefit is that I can ride for
free.

My Dad's two parakeets
are named Popeye and Olive; we always name our birds after restaurants.

I guess you could say that I am a
bit of a bookworm because I truly love to read. My favorite series
of books is the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. I also like the horse
stories that almost everybody reads and I like the chicken soup books
for horse lovers and pet lovers soul.
