Verse 23
Cassandra treated Ariratram's wounds as I kept watch over the area for any additional signs of trouble. Morale seemed low among the group, and that made things worse since we were hard pressed for time. As the party attempted to make a stretcher for Ariratram a large cloud of dust could be seen far in the distance along the road to NorthHaven.
Finishing the stretcher, we quickly rode off as fast as we could. We made camp hours later when it seemed safe once again. I began cooking as Whistler, another of Cahir's companions, looked over Ariratram's wounds. A fog suddenly befell us enveloping our little campsite. Elendar desided to investigate, but somehow always returned back to the camp.
After about a half hour, the fog diminished to a light layer on the now ashen ground. In the distance where there were once trees, stood a huge tower reaching high into the dark sky. As we sat in wonderment, it started getting closer.
Elendar desided to investigate this new wonder as I finished with my meal. By the time I was done, the tower had closed to about a half mile's distance. In the time it took to eat dinner, Elendar had not made very good ground on the tower. A strong wind blew forth from the tower, and had brought him to his belly as he struggled forth. As the rest of the party moved to join him though the winds died down allowing us to reach the gates of the great tower.
The gates opened on its bronzed hinges as if we were expected. Inside the keep a haloed form the height of a man stood silently waiting for us. As we entered it turned and left down another passage, a fluid cape trailing behind it.
This place suddenly reminded Cerrannor of a legend that he once heard of he believes that this keep belongs to a god of the winds of the time called Teharanos.
We entered the next room and the door shut behind us. From a glowing pillar in the center of the room 2 swirling lights moving in fluid motion luminated the room in their light, preventing us from moving. One of the lights moved towards Widget, Aalaysia's furry grey mouse. As it touched the mouse his fur glowed in electric white light. The second strand first touched the top of my head then Cerrannor's armor, finally Cahir's invisible outline, before it enveloped Cassandra.
A voice then spoke to us: "Guardians of the orbs of Teharanos-li, come forward and recieve my council." Cassandra and Widget then began walking towards the pillar of light in the center of the room.
