(This skill applies to the Religion and Ancient History Proficiencies) The Awakening of Magic, Technology, and Religion. The elves who remained the most untouched by the corruption of the Dragons began to seek out a method to combat the creations of the dragons before they destroyed their precious forests. The wisest of the elves, a sage name Oc’an’del ventured into the ancient woods first created on the world in search of the Elder Tree. After decades of searching the miles of forests he finally found the great tree nestled in a small grove of wild flowers and animals. The Elder tree told Oc’an’del that he too could possess the power that the Dragon kind possessed. He told him that the essence of magic exists in everything and that if he searched hard enough and studied how all objects reacted to each other that he too could wield magic. With that said, the Elder Tree imparted the knowledge to Oc’an’del of how to weave the simplest of magic "the Cantrip". With this knowledge he returned to his people only to find that many of their hearts had been changed by the corruption that the dragons brought upon the world. Determined to bring this to a stop Oc’an’del educated those who would still listen in the ways of magic and the forest, thus creating the first mages. Meanwhile the Andorians and the Dway had forged an alliance based on needs. The Andorians had discovered the means by which to forge weapons using a metal the Dway called Silver. From this metal they were able to create blades that would slice through hide and their enemies, and used t them to drive back the evil that the dragons had created. In return for this Silver, the Andorians supplied the Dway with food, seed, and wood that the Dway needed to help them stop the creatures that began to take over their ancient earth homes. At the same time, the Metallic Dragons, enemy of the Chromatic Dragons had a plan of their own. Knowing that the gods were the source of the Dragon’s magic from birth, they devised a plan to empower the humanoid races with godly power as well to combat the evil which was released into the world. Meeting in secret atop a lone mountain overlooking a plain of plenty the Metallic Dragons assembled there and combining their powers opened up a rift into the. The rift, which lasted a brief moment before it was closed by Arcania himself, could be seen for hundreds of miles by many of the races. That one brief moment exposed those races to the knowledge that they were actually created by divine beings of immense power, and that they too could tap into that power. Thus began the birth of religion.
