Andorian Plate Armor

Andorian Plate Armor was considered one of the most versitile armors of 
it's time, and eventually eloved into the platemail and full platemail 
armors of our time.  Andorian Plate Armor was created of silver plates 
riveted to a thin leather sheet.  The individual light plates would 
cover the vital areas of the person's body, while the leather would 
provide defense for the less vital areas, providing high mobility and 
decent defensive value.

Some suits of this armor has been known to have a pair of silver spikes 
or rails by the palm of the hand to allow blades to be caught, grabbed 
by gloved hands and disarmed from attackers.  Other suits also had 
small spikes with extended to the middle of the foot to add extra 
traction and damage potential.
