Escape from Lizard Thing Island
Verse 16
I peered from the brush as the green scaly things followed the movement of our little outrigger, unsure if I was noticed or not within the cover of the brush,and whether or not Aalaysia had much better luck finding cover, or even if she had been captured by these creatures. While in the mean time on the boat my assoicates were trying to think of how they were planning on getting us off of the island while getting by the scaly things. After a while they were too far off down the island, the green humanoids following suit so I climbed one of those scaly tree things and discovered that they habor strange, featureless, furry brown heads in their branches. Freaky, but as long as they were not talking to me, or attempting to eat me, I wasn't about to wake them up from their slumber. Too bad they didn't look edible because I didn't have any food on me and it was dinner time ( God I'm spoiled ).
A few hours later as the sun had set in the sky I spotted a globe of light within the sea with figures moving around within. They came back it seems, and didn't seem to bring anything with them for the moment, but of course that light is eventually going to attract the green things again. It was then that I spotted one on my side of the island... a small one with a dagger it appeared. I lept at it attempting to take it down to the ground before it could raise an alarm, but instead fate desided to plant me into the ground where I live instead and I missed my target by a few feet, luckly for me though the ground is covered in sand and I can roll away from harm's painful grasp... and the fact that it was only the halfling Tol that we rescued made things better for me.
Unfortunately the boat was making it's way around the island and we didn't have any idea where Aalaysia was yet. So leading the search, me and Tol ended up looking for Aalaysia while the green scaly lizard humanoids found our boat and desided to follow them along the shoreline again. Finally we found Aalaysia though she claims she found us...if so it was the halfling's big hairy feet crashing around that gave away our position. We made our made to the edge of the forest as the boat was making a pass by with 5 green things following.
I devised a quick plan, which Aalaysia didn't quite care for, but got her eventually on the boat anyways. I cast a small incantation, giving away yet again my small talent in the magicial arts, creating 5 identical images of myself. I told Tol and Aalaysia to run for the boat as I distracted the creatures, then began running down the beach screaming gnomish curses the distract them, 5 images of myself following along side me. They took off following me, while Tol made a run for the outrigger and Aalaysia remained somewhere within the safety of the forest. I ran down the beach hoping to give them enough time to get Rain ( Aalaysia ) and get ready for my return up the beach to the boat. By the time I felt they had enough time, and knowing my spell was to end shortly I turned all 6 of me around suddenly and charged them catching them off guard long enough for them to get in defensive and attack my images, as I crashed through their ranks. I ran as fast as I could then seeing the waiting crew of the boat with Rain aboard, I leapt into the boat with a masterful flip breathing a sigh of relief with my image, as it floated above the water thankful that we were getting away without harm or pursuit.
Now as my empty stomach feasts upon rations, we notice a ship in the seas, coming from a direction opposed to where our ship lay. It looks like we might have found a Regilian ship.
