In Michael's will he leaves one shilling each to his three sons John,Michael, and William. To his son James one shilling, and if he shouldreturn, and take care of his wife, and three young sons, he leaves himthe eastern 50 acres of lot number 9 at Salmon Beach. Should James failto comply, he leaves the said land to Andrew, with James having no claimto the land! To Andrew, he leaves the next adjoining 50 acres of land onthe western side of that part first described. The said Andrew not tohave possession of the said 50 acres, until he has reached the full ageof 21, and he will remain and work at home with my other sons, until theyare of age. To his youngest sons, Patrick, Florence, and Thomas, heleaves the hundred acres on the western side containing the homestead, tobe divided equally, when the youngest is of the full age of 21, and theyagree each, and all to support and provide for their mother, my wife aslong as she remain single, and unmarried. the new barn is to be shared byall until they all share in the completion of a new barn for the ones whoinherit the land that doesn't contain this barn. When Patrick sells hisshare consisting of the eastern 1/3 acres of the western 1/2 of lotnumber 9 To John Smith in 1872, the barn is excluded from the sale, soevidently the barn was found to be situated on that section.
I have a copy of a deed transferring the western 2/3s of the western 1/2of lot number 9 Salmon beach containing 66 2/3 acres, and including thebarn situated on the eastern 1/3 of the western 1/2 of lot number nineland currently owned and occupied by John Smith, to George Willis byRichard Smith I think that it says 21 July 1884. I think it goes on toinclude the west fifty acres of the eastern 1/2 of lot number ninebequeathed by the late Michael McCarthy to Andrew McCarthy, which isbounded on the east by land now owned by Jasper Willis. The same landconveyed to Jasper Willis by James, and Andrew McCarthy.
I suspect that Frank probably sold his land at Salmon beach to RichardSmith just prior to purchasing the land in New Limerick in 1875

We used to think that Jeremiah was Michael's father, but have recentlylearned that Michael died 1/30/1860 at age 65, thus he would more likelybe a brother, or cousin. Maybe!
I'm not certain that the Killarney John, and Mary Butler are the sameones as the Bathurst John, and Mary Butler, but I'm also not certain thatthey aren't either. The John and Mary Butler in Limerick, Co LimerickIreland would have been born prior to 1798, and the John, and Mary'stombstone that is at St. Famile RC Church cemetery would put John b.1805, and Mary b 1811. The John and Mary Mullen that the researcher listsin Bathurst area census seem to have a daughter Mary born the same yearthat John, and Mary Butler's daughter Mary was born, but they are stillhaving children, when Mary b.1811 would have been over 50. I have seenthe records for Mary, and Florence's baptism, and although the last namefor Mary on Mary's baptism record is hard to make out, it seems closer toButler, than to Mullen, and on Florence's baptism record, it isdefinitely Butler. I have certified copies of these records transcribedby the people at St. Famile church, and they listed it as Butler also.spouse: Butler, Mary Ann (~1795 - 1883)
John, and Michael both show up in Bathurst, NB Canada Abt.. 1828, so wewonder if they might be brothers. We aren't sure if there are twoseparate John's, one married to Mary Butler, and the other married toMary Mullen, or if they are the same one, and Mary's name is just realhard to read, and spelled slightly off. If they are both the same one, then the John. and Mary Butler in Killarney Ireland would be incorrect,as John, and Mary would have been born 1805, and 1811, making a marriagein 1810 kind of unlikely.Burial - [date: JAN 1875] [place: Bathurst, NB, Canada. This may be the same John, that is married to Mary Butler, but I'mnot certain of that. I have certified copies of these records transcribedby the people at St. Famile church, and they listed it as Butler also. Ihaven't been able to locate records for the births on the children thatthe researcher has listed for John, and Mary Mullen, so can't make anydetermination on that myself.
This information was taken from the ST Famile RC church records, and theKillarney RC records. I'm not certain that the Killarney John, and Maryare the same ones, but I'm also not certain that they aren't.
