Moved to Houlton in 1852, Had 3 sons, and 7 daughters. Cornelius formed apartnership with Patrick Benson under the firm Benson & Mulherin boot,and shoe business. In 1811 Squire Cook, and John Mullen went from Woodstock, NB Canadaalong the 12 mile foot path to what is now Houlton, Maine, at that timethe entire northern Washington Co. now known as Aroostook Co. wasinhabited only by Indians (Native Americans). Squire, and John stayedwith Ambrose Bear on the spot later owned by MD Albert Putnam across fromwhat was later the Bowdin St. School. The next morning John Mullen madethe chopping at the spot that the path crossed what was later named Cooksbrook, and erected a shanty. This spot grew to be Houlton, Maine.spouse:
