In Michael's Will he mentions a son John, and a John McCarthy bc 1820 shows up in Bathurst about the same time as Michael does, and marries Ellen Dempsey in 1851. Ellen b 1829 in Bathurst, is the daughter of John Dempsey b 1814, and Mary Brean (sp) b 1801 in Ireland
