12:00 noon: Senator Edwards in Manchester. Out on the street, where supporters and interns, are on every corner, automobile horns sound in support over and over again. Supporters respond with hoots and screams and chants. It's become almost impossible to get close to the Senator. It's also become more difficult to move around at al or get into position for good pictures. The cameras and lenses wielded by the press are large and heavy. The Manchester library basement theater was filled to overflowing. I have no idea what the numbers were. Sandy and I were escorted to the stage to serve as a backdrop to the Senator's appearance. After the rally, Senator Edwards is moved quickly to a quiet room for interviews and then to the steps of the library for "availability." Judy Woodruff is seen among the crowd. Press coverage seems almost smothering to us and is such as contrast to only a few weeks ago. We can tell you that Senator John Edwards is pumped like we've never seen!

Supporters on Pine Street. Library in background. Center / front - Ashley, a 20-year old student intern from North Carolina, who is staying with us.

A slice of the audience from the stage.

Our Lakes Region/North Country Edwards Field Coordinator, Christy Cunningham. She's jubilant and isn't getting much sleep these days.

After the rally, I was able to get this quick shot as the Senator posed before being escorted into a pressroom behind behind him.

By accident, I find John Edwards right in front of me. I snapped a quickie and then, using this supporter's camera, took a picture of him with the Senator.

After the rally, reporters and supporters wait for John Edwards to emerge.
