Sandy and I were very nervous about the Town Hall Meeting. We had worked hard to make sure we had a good showing. Though we didn't say much, we were terrified that "nobody would come." I thought to myself that, if we had 70 people in attendence, I would be "OK." People started arriving early which allowed me to begin to relax a little... I counted around 110 people. I was pleased.

Early arrivals and Edwards literature.
Edwards literature was out and waiting. You can see people seated in the background.
Looking toward the meeting area
This view is from the front entry-way of the Inter-Lakes Elementary School. This is what the Senator will see as he comes through the door. More people have arrived now and you can see that the space behind the literature table is filling in.
More people arrive
More people arrived...
More people arrive
And more people...
More people arrive
The Senator arrives.... and is greeting Sandy. This all happened so fast. I wish I could have asked him to do the "entrance" again, but... Just after this was taken, he exclaimed, "Great sign!"
More people arrive
Senator Edwards in front of our interested, but unconvinced audience. This all changed of course. A spontaneous exchange between John and Elizabeth about who had the higher loan debt after college helped to melt the audience. We still don't have the real answer on this one!
More people arrive
Senator Edwards as only he can be.
More people arrive
Taking another question...
I didn't get the pictures I would have liked as the large, colorful posts seemed to always be in the way. Right after the Meredith Town Hall Meeting, the Real Solutions Express headed north for the 18th Annual Harry S. Truman Dinner. Sandy and I beat the bus, but then of course, we live here. We were so proud. We think the Meredith Town Hall Meeting was well attended and even think it might have exceeded the expectations of some of the Edwards crew. Thanks Christy.
