By the time 6:30pm rolled around, it was dark and cold and windy in Tilton, New Hampshire. Some of the "VIZ" people from the southern climes were having a tough time. Warm overcoats, knit wool hats, and mittens or gloves were absolutely necessary. The campaign interns were great and I joined them outside in the very cold night air until the Senator arrived at about 8:00pm. We had a room all to ourselves at Oliver's. Though I didn't count, I would guess that there were about 40 people squeezed in. Some had to stand in the doorways and against the walls. Some had to stand behind the Senator as he spoke.
