HOME>11/30/03 Laconia, New Hampshire
Laconia is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee in the Lakes Region of New Hamsphire. The Toy Drive truck was brought up from Derry to participate in the Laconia Holiday Parade. Scheduled starting time was 1:00pm. We made some adjustments to the Toy Drive package, substituting a polar bear, sporting an Edwards wool cap, for the red bow we had used in the Derry parade. We also brought Edwards totems and two Edwards 4x8s with us as we marched. There was some confusion about where the parade ended; our guess was incorrect and we had to hike a bit to pick up cars at the end of the parade.

Working on the Toy Drive package before loading onto the truck bed.

Closeup or our Edwards Bear. The Edwards Bear, along with some tinsel and gift packages, replaced the Derry Bow atop the Toy Drive package.

Securing the Bear's position.

Some of the members of the Laconia Parade crew.

Almost ready to take our position in the staging area.

Colin offers a ride to the parade starting point for about 6 or 7 of his closests friends and we do mean closest. I wish I had been there to see them fall out of the car.

Positioned at the staging area.

Getting lined up in the staging area.

Colin, the sticker man!

In full-fledged marching formation.

4x8 proudly displayed along the parade route.

Totems held high as we head toward downtown Laconia.

Forging ahead....

We all made it through the big intersection without injury.

Good from the rear as well... as we head into downtown Laconia.

Emerging from Main Street.

Turning the final corner.

Milling about and trying to figure out who's going to shuttle back to Laconia Headquarters and on to Dover for the next parade.

The Toy Drive package is stripped, flipped, and secured for transport to Dover.

Brad...looking for a ride? Interesting Laconia Public Library in the background.
