Storm running the Sandwich Notch 30 with a friend Scott Alexander, owners of Kiana Siberians. This was Scott's first mid-distance race and he finished 17th out of 30 mushers. This was also Storm's first mid-distance race. He is running in point on the right. Congratulations Scott for a job well done!
We ran the White Mountain Quest relay race hosted by All Terrain Dog. Kelly ran a 4 dog team, the firt day running Storm, Stedman, Flurry & Alec, the second day she ran Storm, Siepa, Alec & Stedman. We were partnered up with Scott Alexander (Kiana Siberians), our race team name was the "Show Huskies". Scott ran a 6 dog team and Kelly ran a 4 dog team. Thank you to Scott & Corina for letting us partner up with them and thank you to Whatleigh Edmands for letting us borrow Siepa Sunday!
We ran the Tamworth Sprint races. We ran the 4 dog Sportsmanship class. Our yearlings did good for their first race, we ran 2 day heats and our time was consistent both days, only a few seconds difference to be exact. We ran Storm, Stedman, Flurry & Alec.
We ran a freight race, 6 miles with 6 dogs, 40 lbs of weight per dog, that was one tough workout!! The dogs were awesome though, did not matter how much weight they were pulling. We have both learned it is very hard to steer a sled with over 240lbs!
